The crankshaft front damper for Komatsu-6 excavators is made from chrome-molybdenum steel alloy with 55-60 HRC surface hardness, ensuring resistance to torsional and impact stresses up to 1500 Nm. The outer diameter is 120 mm, inner diameter 35 mm, and wall thickness 20 mm. Dynamic balancing is performed with ±0.5 g accuracy to reduce engine vibrations between 600 and 2500 rpm, extending crankshaft service life.
The internal surface is shafted and nitrided, while the external surface is coated with 150-micron epoxy powder for industrial corrosion resistance. Installation uses grade 10.9 steel bolts. Vibration, impact, and thermal tests from -20°C to 120°C are performed according to ISO 1940 standards. Operational life under harsh industrial conditions exceeds 8 years.
