The crankshaft front damper-8 Komatsu is made from chrome-molybdenum steel with a surface hardness of 58-62 HRC, ensuring resistance to torsional stresses and engine vibrations up to 2000 Nm. The outer diameter is 140 mm, inner diameter 40 mm, and wall thickness 25 mm. Dynamic balancing is performed with ±0.5 g accuracy to reduce engine vibrations between 500 and 3000 rpm, extending crankshaft and bearing service life.
The internal surface is nitrided, and the external surface is coated with 200-micron epoxy powder to increase corrosion, moisture, and industrial environment resistance. Installation uses grade 10.9 steel bolts. Vibration, impact, and thermal tests from -20°C to 130°C are conducted according to ISO 1940 standards. Operational life under harsh conditions exceeds 10 years.
