Construction engine parts include essential components such as pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, bearings, and valves, all playing a critical role in the efficiency of heavy-duty diesel engines. These components are designed to operate under demanding conditions, including continuous load cycles, combustion pressures above 160 bar, and operating temperatures near 110 degrees Celsius. Pistons are typically made of die-cast aluminum alloys with heat resistance up to 420 degrees Celsius, while crankshafts are forged from alloy steel and surface-hardened to 60 HRC, enabling them to handle torques exceeding 3200 Newton-meters.
To reduce wear, piston rings are coated with molybdenum or hard chrome, decreasing surface friction by up to 25 percent. Valves are manufactured from heat-resistant steel, capable of withstanding 800 degrees Celsius, while bearings reinforced with babbitt layers can tolerate loads over 6500 Newtons per square centimeter. The lubrication system operates at an oil pressure of 4 to 6 bar, maintaining frictional heat under control. In Komatsu, Hyundai, and Caterpillar machinery, the average service life of these engine components is estimated between 9000 and 12000 hours.
