Starter Motor and All Electrical Components of Komatsu Excavator

The Komatsu excavator starter motor is made of pure copper with a durable iron core and operates at 24 volts DC. The rated current of the starter reaches 180 amperes, with an output power of 5.5 kW. The starter shaft diameter is 20 millimeters, and the total length is 220 millimeters. Its planetary gear system with a 3.5:1 ratio can transmit torque up to 350 Nm. Internal relays and bushings are made of hardened steel, capable of operating between -40 and 120°C. The external surface is coated for corrosion resistance and high durability against moisture and dust.

All electrical components, including the alternator, relays, fuses, and wiring, are designed and manufactured according to ISO 16750 standards. The alternator can produce 90 amperes at 24 volts DC, with internal winding resistance below 0.15 ohms. Cables are made of heat-resistant insulation with high mechanical strength, and all connections have contact resistance below 5 milliohms. All components undergo vibration, mechanical shock, and thermal testing to ensure stable operation and long service life of the excavator’s electrical system.
