Modern elevator traction machines are Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors PMSM. They achieve over 95% efficiency across 25% to 100% load ranges. Standard speeds are 1 to 4 meters per second with ±3 mm positioning accuracy. Rated motor power varies from 10 to 50 kW for mid-rise buildings. Winding insulation typically meets Class H thermal rating 180°C. Starting current is limited to less than 1.5 times the rated current. Forced air cooling with ECM fans maintains winding temperature below 120°C. IGBT inverters with Space Vector PWM SVPWM minimize harmonic distortion.

The gearless design directly couples to the traction sheave, reducing energy loss below 3%. Continuous torque output reaches 3000 Nm with 200% momentary overload capacity. Sound pressure level in the machine room is below 55 dBA. High-resolution encoders with 614,400 pulses per revolution enable precise speed control. The motor frame is constructed from 316 stainless steel with powder epoxy coating. A CAN bus monitoring system tracks bearing health and magnetic flux. The designed operational lifespan typically exceeds 200,000 complete duty cycles. You can order and buy Lift engine from Iran by contacting us through whatsaap and email.

Types of Elevator Motors

Elevator motors are categorized into three main types: Geared Traction, Gearless Traction, and Hydraulic. Geared Traction Motors with a gear reduction system are suitable for mid-rise buildings up to 20 floors and medium speeds up to 2.5 m/s. Gearless Traction Motors with very high efficiency and low noise are designed for tall towers over 20 floors and high speeds up to 10 m/s. Hydraulic Motors using a piston and pressurized oil system are used for low-rise applications up to 6 floors, heavy loads, and low speeds up to 1 m/s. The choice of motor type depends on building height, load capacity, required speed, and energy constraints. Adherence to safety standards EN 81-20/50 and consultation with a supervising engineer are essential for optimal selection.
