Elevator , Iran
An elevator is a vertical transportation system powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor PMSM with 5 to 100 kW output. Travel speeds range from 0.25 to 16 m/s with adjustable stopping accuracy of ±2 mm. Load capacities span 320 to 10,000 kg 3 to 150 passengers or industrial loads designed with a 1.25 safety factor. The central control system utilizes PLC technology managing up to 128 stops with response times under 15 seconds. Energy consumption complies with VDI 4707 Class A+ standards and incorporates regenerative drives with 45% energy recovery efficiency. All core components are certified to global standards EN 81-20/50, ASME A17.1, and ISO 22201-1.
The mechanical structure includes T-shaped steel guide rails with 200 Brinell hardness, fire-resistant Class A60 cabins, and seismic-resistant shafts up to magnitude 10. The advanced safety system features dual safety brakes, electromagnetic governors, hydraulic buffers, and 3D laser sensors. Doors are automatic with 200W synchronous motors, 0.8 m/s opening speeds, and infrared sensors with 3 mm precision. The cabin integrates 500 CFM ventilation, LED lighting with CRI>95, and impact/humidity-resistant touch control panels. Installation and maintenance employ IoT platforms and AI for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance. This system is designed for high-rise buildings, commercial centers, airports, and heavy industries while adhering to ADA and ISO 4190-6 standards.

How to Calculate Appropriate Elevator Capacity and Speed Based on Number of Units
Elevator capacity is first calculated based on the average number of occupants per unit and the number of floors. The standard capacity formula divides the buildings total population by the traffic cycle during peak times. Appropriate speed is determined according to building height and the number of stops. For buildings up to 5 floors, a speed of 0.5 to 1 meter per second is typical. In high-rise towers, speed increases to 2.5 to 10 meters per second. Reasonable waiting interval and total travel time must also be calculated. Using elevator traffic simulation software for precise calculations is recommended. Finally, aligning the results with EN 81-70 standards and available cabin capacities is essential.
