2500 Electronic Protector
The Model 2500 electronic surge protector utilizes metal oxide varistors MOVs with a clamping voltage of 270V AC. It withstands a peak discharge current Ipeak of up to 25 kA for an 8/20 µs impulse wave. The system response time is less than 25 nanoseconds for overvoltage detection. The energy absorption capacity per phase is at least 550 joules. The residual clamping voltage during full discharge remains below 20 volts. The protector features an internal thermal fuse to disconnect the MOV after its end-of-life. It supports a continuous operating voltage of 220V AC at 50-60 Hz. The maximum short circuit withstand rating is 50 kA symmetrical. The devices operating temperature range is -40 to +85°C. Protection is typically achieved through a 4-stage design MOV, gas discharge tube, filter, and choke.
The device structure includes three protection channels: Line-Neutral, Line-Line, and Neutral-Ground. A secondary protection gas discharge tube GDT with a breakdown voltage of 350V is incorporated. A stabilizing L-C filter attenuates high-frequency noise EMI/RFI above 100 kHz by up to 40 dB. A series choke limits inrush currents to a maximum of 200 amperes. An LED status indicator provides visual confirmation of protection health. Connections are screw-type terminals with silver pla
