Diamond Asphalt Cutting Disc
Diamond asphalt cutting discs are produced in diameters from 300 to 1200 mm. The steel core is made from specially heat-treated low-carbon steel. Disc thickness ranges from 3.2 to 4.5 mm with a tolerance of ±0.15 mm. Coarse industrial diamond particles of 20/30 mesh are set in the segments. A hard bond matrix of cobalt-iron with 18-25% diamond concentration by volume is used. This composition provides high impact resistance up to 25 Joules. The recommended linear speed is between 35 to 50 meters per second. This disc is optimized for cutting asphalt depths of 100-150 mm with aggregates up to 7 Mohs hardness.
The disc structure features deep, wide gullets with a 15-degree angle. This design enables rapid removal of heavy debris and heat dissipation. The number of segments varies from 18 to 36 depending on the diameter. Segment height is 10 to 14 mm, designed for long service life. Segment edges are often nickel-coated to reduce friction. The disc mounts on balanced flanges with a TIR accuracy below 0.3 mm. This disc can cut up to 50 linear meters of asphalt per hour. Its service life before re-tipping reaches 1500 effective hours under standard conditions.
