Marine ropes are used in applications where the rope is exposed to salt sea water. due to very high corrosive effects of sea water marine ropes are produced of very high resistant materials. some of the common materials used to produce marine ropes are natural fabrics while some other are synthetic materials. among the most common type of ropes that are used in boating, fishing and all marine purposes are nylon ropes, PP ropes, Manila ropes.

Marine ropes should not only be resistant to corrosive salt water but also must have tigh abrasion resistance, high flexibility and high tensile strength. due to the tides and sea waves marine ropes are usually exposed to shock waves and should in this respect have the high tension resistance. synthetic marine ropes such as PP (polypropylene) and polyester ropes made in Iran do not absorb water and pick insignificant amount of weight once exposed to water. they also have 4 to 5 times higher life time compared to natural fabric marine ropes.
