Lubricant wire rope
Wire rope lubricant is a specialized product for steel and stainless steel wire ropes, enhancing longevity, flexibility, and resistance to wear and corrosion. The base oil or grease can be mineral or synthetic, with viscosity ranging from 150 to 300 cSt at 40°C. Pour point exceeds 180°C, and oxidation resistance surpasses 100 hours in standard tests. The lubricant penetrates the rope core and strands, covering more than 95% of internal and external surfaces.
Structurally, the wire rope lubricant consists of base oil combined with anti-wear additives and corrosion inhibitors. This reduces friction between rope strands, preventing breakage and wear over the service life. Uniform coating optimizes rope performance in humid, marine, and industrial environments. Regular application improves safety, reduces maintenance frequency, and lowers wire rope operating costs.
