The 2012 model belt tensioner is formed from stamped low-carbon steel with a 60-micron epoxy powder coating. Its mechanism incorporates an SAE 6150 steel coil spring, 4 mm in diameter with 10 active coils. This spring provides an initial tension force of 400±20 Newtons. The pulley is manufactured from 2024-T4 aluminum alloy with a hard anodized coating of 25 microns. A double-row deep groove ball bearing, model 6204-2RSH with rubber seals, is centrally mounted. This bearing has a maximum axial play of less than 0.008 mm. The design is optimized for 6-rib poly-V belts with a length of 1200 mm.

The structure features a steel arm with an 8 mm thickness and a fixed hardened steel pivot shaft. The system integrates a hydraulic damper to suppress oscillations. The damper fluid has a viscosity of 150 cSt at 40°C. Its damping torque ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 Nm at 3000 RPM. The arms angular movement range is 35 degrees with a tolerance of ±2 degrees. This component operates reliably from -35 to +140 degrees Celsius.
