The main components of Lombardini engines include the cylinder block, pistons, crankshaft, connecting rods, and cylinder head, made from high-grade cast iron and alloy steel to resist wear and heat. Cylinder diameters range from 70 to 110 millimeters, piston strokes from 90 to 150 millimeters, and Lombardini engines typically have 1 to 4 cylinders. The crankshaft undergoes heat treatment and precision balancing, supporting torque up to 500 Nm, while forged steel connecting rods, 130 to 250 millimeters long, ensure optimal force transmission and durability.
The cylinder head contains intake and exhaust valves, seats, and oil and water channels, machined to surface tolerances below 0.02 millimeters. Bearings withstand temperatures up to 110°C and oil pressures of 3 to 5 bar. All main components undergo non-destructive testing NDT, including ultrasonic and magnetic inspections, ensuring engine service life exceeds 12,000 hours and stable performance under industrial conditions.
