Stainless steel exhaust of the Caterpillar 950 loader
The stainless steel exhaust system of the Caterpillar 950 loader is constructed from grade 304 steel alloyed with chromium and nickel to ensure high resistance to heat, corrosion, and vibration. The system includes an exhaust manifold, reinforced mid-pipe, multi-stage silencer, and a 45-degree vertical outlet. The internal pipe diameter ranges from 75 to 90 millimeters, with a wall thickness of approximately 2 millimeters. The silencer’s multilayer ceramic fiber structure reduces engine noise by up to 41 decibels. All joints are TIG welded to prevent gas leakage and enhance system durability.
In the design of the stainless steel Caterpillar 950 loader exhaust, gas flow is engineered to maintain back pressure below 7 percent of engine power. The high-temperature surface coating withstands up to 920 degrees Celsius, preventing oxidation and discoloration. The total system weight ranges from 18 to 23 kilograms, allowing direct installation on the main chassis. A dual-layer thermal insulator in the central section prevents heat transfer to the air filter and fuel system, improving operational safety and reliability.
