KAWASAKI K3V pump repair
The Kawasaki K3V main hydraulic pump for Zoomlion excavators is an axial piston variable displacement type. Its flow rate ranges from 150 to 250 liters per minute, with a working pressure up to 350 bar. The pump drive power is typically 110 to 180 kW, and its volumetric efficiency is around 92 percent. Maximum operating pressure of 320 bar and hydraulic oil temperature between 40–80°C define its standard operating range. This pump powers the boom, arm, and swing systems and can withstand impact loads up to 20 percent of nominal pressure.
Repair involves disassembling the pump body, inspecting the swash plate, pistons, bearings, and internal valves. Consumable parts include pistons, O-rings, high-pressure washers, shaft bearings, and the swash plate. Internal leakage, abnormal noise above 75 dB, and flow reduction over 15 percent indicate pump failure. Standard repair costs about 25–40 percent of a new pump and includes full mechanical and hydraulic rebuilding. Inspections every 500 operating hours and replacing hydraulic oil with 46–68 mm²/s viscosity extend pump lifespan.
