Caterpillar D9G bulldozer exhaust
The exhaust system of the Caterpillar D9G bulldozer is constructed from grade 304 stainless steel alloyed with chromium and nickel to provide high resistance to heat, vibration, and corrosion. The system includes an exhaust manifold, reinforced mid-pipe, multi-stage silencer, and a 45-degree vertical outlet. The internal pipe diameter ranges from 105 to 125 millimeters, with a wall thickness of approximately 2.5 millimeters. The silencer’s multilayer ceramic fiber structure reduces engine noise by up to 47 decibels. All joints are TIG and MIG welded to prevent gas leakage and extend system durability.
In the design of the Caterpillar D9G bulldozer exhaust, gas flow is optimized to maintain pressure loss below 9 percent of engine power. The high-temperature surface coating withstands up to 960 degrees Celsius, preventing oxidation and discoloration. The total system weight ranges from 34 to 40 kilograms, allowing direct installation on the main bulldozer chassis. A dual-layer thermal insulator in the central section prevents heat transfer to the operator cabin and hydraulic system, improving operational safety and reliability.
