• In the manufacturing of the engine air filter cartridge by SILKOH, the fibre packing density is engineered at approximately 450–500 g/m² grams per square metre of media weight. This basis‑weight ensures a compact structure where porosity is limited to about 65 %–70 % of total volume, delivering high particle‑capture efficiency while maintaining low flow resistance. The pleated micro‑fibre paper layers are compressed to a thickness of nearly 8 mm after assembly, so each filter element achieves an active filtration area of roughly 1.2 m² in standard format.
• The fibre‑matrix is calibrated to remove particles down to 3–5 µm with an initial pressure drop of 35–45 Pa at an air flow rate of 1.0 m³/min. Over the service interval the accumulated dust holding capacity reaches ~350 g/m² before differential pressure climbs above 250 Pa. The cartridge shell supports an operational temperature range from –40 °C to +120 °C and ensures no collapse under dynamic air‑flow pulses up to 5 kPa amplitude.
