In order to make the prestressed concrete strand, the wire rod with 82B grade, which is high in carbon, is pulled through special steps and special conditions to reach the desired wire. Then these wires are woven around a central wire to form a strand. At the end, the prepared strand is entered into the heat treatment stage so that the stresses created in the steel particles during the previous steps are removed from it, so that it achieves a higher tensile capacity in this product.
Prestressed concrete strand is manufactured according to the ASTM A-416 standard American Society for Testing and Materials, and each production, inspection, and post-production testing process is carried out according to this regulation.
The desired tensile strength in this type of steel strand is 1860 N/mm2 equivalent to 270 K.
Concrete strand is usually made in the form of 6 strands of wire that are spun around a core wire with a 1x7 structure. Of course, in some cases it is also produced and consumed as 1x3.
