The Hydromec Q85 worm gearbox, part of the square gearbox series with a right-angle design, features a one-piece cast iron housing produced through a vacuum process to enhance strength and corrosion resistance. This gearbox offers reduction ratios ranging from 7 to 96 and a maximum output torque of 347 Nm, making it suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications. The worm wheel is made of bronze alloy with centrifugal casting on an iron hub, ensuring long service life and high wear resistance. The worm and input shaft are made of alloy steel with surface hardening Rc 58-60 and ground teeth, designed to reduce noise and improve efficiency.
Equipped with standard IEC flange dimensions and a hollow output shaft, the gearbox allows easy installation. The housing is precisely machined for accurate alignment of bearings and gears. Enlarged bearings securely support the high-speed shaft, ideal for applications with frequent start-stop and reverse operations. Q85 gearboxes are available in center distances from 40 to 125 mm and can be supplied with torque arms, various flanges, or bases installable in three different positions.
