The coefficient of friction is measured between 0.35 and 0.45 in dry conditions and 0.30 to 0.38 when wet. It withstands thermal exposure up to 480 degrees Celsius without deformation under stress. The wear rate is reported to be less than 0.06 millimeters per 1,000 kilometers under standard industrial conditions.
The woven structure allows high flexibility and adaptability to uneven brake surfaces. Tensile strength ranges from 120 to 160 megapascals, and surface hardness is rated between 60 and 75 Rockwell C.
