Fiber core wire ropes are usually used in elevator, for lifting with hoists and in excavating industry. fiber core wire ropes are lighter than steel wire ropes with metal core in equal diameter and are cheaper respectively. steel wire rope with fiber core absorbs water once exposed and used in marine applications and therefore usually PP core cores are more suitable for marine uses.
