The end gap (butt gap) for the top ring in a new liner is set between 0.35 and 0.45 millimeters. This gap measures 0.40 to 0.55 millimeters for the second ring and 0.25 to 0.40 millimeters for the oil ring. The ring groove depth on the piston is 4.0 to 4.5 millimeters and the groove height is 2.5 to 3.0 millimeters.
